Error: UPS has been disconnected

Resolution at last. Here is an update for other members who might be considering a UPS. After exchanging a few emails with CyberPower (at least they replied!!!) I decided to return the unit and bought an APC ES750. It works like a charm. Here are those beautiful messages from ReadyNAS NV:
Mon Sep 6 19:21:21 PDT 2010 UPS is shutting down system.
Mon Sep 6 19:21:19 PDT 2010 UPS battery is low; system will shutdown soon.
Mon Sep 6 19:21:06 PDT 2010 UPS is on battery power.
No disconnect errors so far.
