ESATA dock compatible with RN316?
Does anyone have an external ESATA dock working correctly?
Specifics of Model number would be good to know.
I have a NexStar NST-D300SU3 ESATA & USB3 dock which is not working properly via ESATA. (3TB drive EXT4 formats as 1.79TB, NTFS format does not complete)

Hardware compatibility list is the only list we check if we have questions about 3rd party hardware. Some 3rd party devices may or may not work, some would work but there is no guarantee that it would be reliable.

The problem is there are no esata devices or category on the list.
Anyway, still hoping others will respond to help the wider community. I did a lot of searching here but didn't find much other esata info.
As per my second post, it seems to be working ATM.
It (RN316) couldn't do the initial NTFS format, but backup worked once formatted on PC.
I've now plugged it via USB3, format worked, and re-doing backup for speed comparison.
Once finished I will see if it can format via ESATA, to see if it was an initialisation issue, or every time.
