External USB and NVX

I would like to attach an external USB drive to my ReadyNAS NVX unit. I'm having a hard time finding that on the HCL. Can I can some assistance? I'm sure I'm just overlooking it. I did fine HCL for other devices.

  • I just bought a Seagate BackupPlus 4TB USB drive that does USB 3.0 and is compatible with 2.0. I formatted it as Ext4 which took all of 15 minutes, and it's working great so far. Only transferred about 100GB, but it's looking good. Speed is hard to get used to, but USB 2.0 is feeling kinda old I guess - timed a write to the USB drive from the internal NAS space at 20Mb/s - 7.39GB file took 6minutes 5 seconds. Much slower than my native NVX drive speeds but the USB is not for speed per se, it's for backup. Hope that helps someone.
