Forum Theme Change (subSilver2->proSilver default)
If you don't like this new default theme, you can revert to the older subSilver2 theme here: Board Preferences.
Existing users will have their forum theme retained. You will only see the theme change if you are a new user, or if you are not logged in (browsing as guest).

With performing forum software updates, I really want to make the default theme the phpBBv3 default theme (proSilver). Currently our default is subSilver2 (phpBBv2 default) which looks outdated, and lacks new mods/features.
When we first made the upgrade to v3 back in 2008, there was a lot of out-cry at the new layout (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16851), so we left the default at subSilver2.
To keep things moving forward, I am pondering making proSilver the default, and for those who don't like it, they can switch back to subSilver2 via the Board Preferences.
The purpose of this post is to get some feedback from our users, on your input. I know some of you just don't like the more advanced layout, so that is why the old one will always remain as an alternative. But for new users coming to the site, I believe the new layout is a better choice. One reason for this change, is new features that are only available in proSilver, not ported to subSilver2. One such feature is the 'Similar Topics' jumpbox that shows on forum threads, which I think helps people find related threads, which can answer problems before a new/duplicate question is asked.
Preview links to play with it in action, without changing your default theme:
subSilver2: index.php?style=2
proSilver: index.php?style=9

- chirpaLuminaryYa, I'll check the German,Japanese ones this weekend.
- PapaBear1ApprenticeI finally changed mine. It will take a little getting used to, but I like it.
- IanSavApprenticeHi Chirpa,
Sorry to bump an old thread but I was wondering what ever happened to the ReadyNAS icon/picture at the top of every forum page?
The applicable HTML code fragment is "<td><a href="./index.php"><img src="./styles/subsilver2/imageset/600_NV_Duo.png" width="138" height="68" alt="" title="" /></a></td>" where the ./styles/subsilver2/imageset/600_NV_Duo.png image appears to have gone MIA.
Regards,
Ian. - Apparently it only happens with the older subsilver2 theme. The newer prosilver theme doesn't have a broken link to the image.
viewtopic.php?t=61230 - chirpaLuminaryHow about now?
