- 3squareAspirantwhy does every update breaks the readycloud remote desktop-client's VPN. After a while it'll work again, and then the next update will break it. VPN disconnected
- morad002Aspirant6.2.4 installed without any problems. But now after a few hours the ReadyNas 102 goes "Offline" and I can't get into the admin page. Also Can't detect the NAS with RAIDar. Switch off does not respond and I have to pull the power cord out to switch it off. Once On, all works till it goes "Offline" again!
- louis_houghtonAspirantHi,
We upgraded to the latest v6.2.4 on our ReadyNas 2120 on Monday but since it rebooted after the update we cannot rename folders/files. We cannot crate new shares etc. Every time we try one of these tasks it comes up with an out of disk space error, there is 0 bytes left, please free up some room.
This is causing major issues as all backups to the device are now failing.
Has any else had these issues since upgrading?
Cheers
Louis - applesandsynthsAspirantSince upgrading to 6.2.4, I haven't been able to upload .deb files to install newer versions of Plex.I keep getting failed messages. When trying to remove an installed app from Frontview, it fails. I've tried manually removing plex by running dpkg -rm, then sftping into the NAS to delete the plex folder in /apps, but am still experiencing the same result.
I also tried removing stat from my installed apps, and that app refuses to disappear also. Never had these issues before.
I should also mention, the same is happening on both my Ultra2 Plus and Pro 6. I even tried downgrading back to a 6.2.3 beta and the same is happening :/ - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredCan you send me your logs from both units (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?
- icyAspirantHi,
I've juste updated to 6.2.4 on a legacy RNDU4000 ... but the update didn't go perfectly...
The nas hang during reboot (don't know if it was during shutdown or at startup). 20 mins waiting to react but nothing. Ping was possible, but no other service were available (web admin, ssh, samba). The lcd was off, and pressing the front panel button did nothing. I fear the nas was bricked  , and was forced to do a "hard" power off, by pressing the front side button +- 5 secondes :?
Hopefully, it restarted well.
I can send event log if need :? - cpu8088Virtuosoi have 6.2.4 installed on a 2120 v2 and a 312
still the warning of 70% full is showing in the log. this is annoying.
i have been assured that 70% full post no prob. but then why the warning at 70% and 80%? at 90% full the system overview will show red anyway. - praveenvergheseAspirantI have exactly the same problem, i fear for loosing my hard disk, as i keep unplugging the power cord to restart again.

The first occurrence was last week; I ended up progressively downgrading to 6.2.3 and then back to 6.2.2, at which point users could again mount the Egnyte share.
Today another client had the exact same issue, I skipped down to 6.2.2 and again that was the solution -- exactly the same behavior.
BTW: is there a way to disable the nag screen for updating the firmware? Or like set it to check every x months? Sometimes users need to log in to do basic admin tasks like add or remove new Egnyte users, and the update nag is apparently just super tempting. :) Alternate solution would be a non-admin interface for users to do this, or a sub-admin management role, I suppose. The user story here is, I would like to be able to switch from automatically to manually checking for updates. (Found some info about such a feature for v4 but not yet for v6.) - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired

The whole point of warning before there is a problem is to alert you that it would be good idea to take action to expand the volume or free up space.
If we only start warning when there is a problem then that doesn't help with avoiding running into problems.timfitz wrote: I've had two clients update their own ReadyNAS devices to 6.2.4 on their own and lose their Egnyte storage sync share access after the update
After a firmware update, an app developer may need to update their app for it to remain compatible so if an app is very important to you it would be a good idea to check with the app developer that they've tested it and found it to be working on new firmware before doing the firmware update.timfitz wrote: BTW: is there a way to disable the nag screen for updating the firmware? I don't think there is a way to disable the prompt currently. As you mentioned you don't have to agree to do the update. Generally I would encourage users to use the latest firmware as it will provide the best experience in most cases.
