I emailed Seagate a few moments before and they only responded back with the following link

I don't have any of the serials of my CC4H drives handy currently as I'm at work, but I threw in the 2 serials from Amazon that had the CC43 firmware and said "No New Firmware Available" ... if someone would throw their CC4H serial in maybe it'll say whether or not CC43 is the newer version via their DB records. Maybe that will tell us if its definitely newer, but obviously if it works or not official word hasn't been given, but the few that reported here that they've been using it already in smaller setups appears encouraging as I would hate to have failure due to a such a change.
if no one gets a chance I'll report back my findings tonight when I get a chance to throw my serial in.
I just tried with my ST2000 drive and it says the firmware I have (which is CC43 according to the label on the drive) is the latest.
