HDD Light off but Dashboard and RAIDar shows OK
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2. This morning one of my scheduled backups failed and upon investigation I found the NAS non-responsive -- would not communicate or even turn off via the front panel switch. Also noticed that HDD status lights 1, 2 and 3 were on but 4 was off). Ended up pulling the plug to reboot. It came back up OK but the status light for disk 4 is still off (1, 2 and 3 on as normal). When I go to the ReadyNAS dashboard all the disks show status OK and RAIDar shows all green. The NAS seems to be operating normally but HDD 4 light remains off. Could I have a failed drive that's going undetected or could it just be a faulty LED?

- Maybe try writing to the NAS. Also, look at the SMART stats for all the drives two days in a row, and make sure the power-on hours go up the correct amount.
