Help ReadyNAS 202 admin access and data migration
I've recently unearthed my ten year old ReadyNAS 202, including two 3TB HDDs, from my loft space.
The device looks to be fully functional, it is recognised by my laptop when connected via ethernet cable. However, I can't recall the password in order to access the admin page!
Is there a way to reset the password without the use of ReadyCloud and without any loss of data?
I ideally wish to access the data on the HDD's, the primary use was backup of photos and videos captured by family members via a range smart phones, especially these are the only copies of these media files.
Also I would welcome any recommendations as to how I can safely migrate the data to my laptop or another NAS device? Could I simply eject one of the HDDs, put this into a hard drive caddy, connect to laptop via USB and transfer the files? Or could I purchase another NAS and simply transfer the HDD's from the ReadyNAS into the new device?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

An OS re-install will change the admin password back to the default password. No effect on your data unless you accidently do a factory default instead of an OS re-install.

Thank you very much Sandshark, the OS reinstall did the trick. I'm now able to access the admin page and have access to all of my media files. đ
Does anyone have a recommended approach for data transfer to another NAS or storgage device?

It depends on the destination device.
If you are transfering to a disk connected to a PC, then there are several free programs you can use for block transfers. FreeFileSync is one. You can also schedule backups with most of these programs.
If you are transferring to another NAS, then you can use either the backup jobs in the ReadyNAS, or use a similar facility in the other NAS. Use rsync as the protocol if you can.
