Hiding USB HD from non admin users.
I use our Readynas as a local cloud. I have attached a USB HD to it and it functions as a backup. This works wonderfully and cannot be accessed without the admin login. This is all perfect. However, I would prefer that this drive only be visible if you log in as an administrator. I don't even want people to know it is there. Any ideas?
Hi jtwontex,
You cannot hide the USB share but you can set a permission for it to be restricted (local/remote through ReadyCLOUD). Here are some helpful articles you can look at.
Permission on Windows Explorer

Its been a while since I posted this. I will mark this as "accept as solution" because the question was answered. However, perhaps we can rename this as a feature request.
I have several resources on my NAS now that I would prefer were only visible to those that sign in to the NAS as the admin. In this case that's basically 2 people out of 30 or so.

There was an older request similar to your thread. I have attached your feedback to that case, so we can put into another coming release.
