How to recover my NV+ (Sparc) in case of a failure
I have used the Backup Button once a week to run an Rsync backup of my NV+'s C drive to an external USB drive. I have occasional retrieved stuff from the drive, but NEVER have I had a failure that required a complete restore from backup. Can someone tell me the steps? Is it this simple?
1. Re-build the NV+ with drives and a clean Factory Reset
2. Restore the CONFIGURATION from my backups
3. Plug-in the USB drive and copy all the files across using Windows
Is it this simple?
Should my Config files backup have selected Everything, so that on Restore all the folder structures are shown, or is that not necessary?

Backing up "everything" is best, but you can do as much manually as you desire. It is an opportunity to re-arrange if you've decided you want to make a change. If you have apps installed, you should re-install them before restoring the configuration. And setting up one or more backup jobs on the NAS to restore the data would be better than using Windows if the USB drive remains connected to the NAS. If the USB drive is formatted with a file system Windows supports, then moving the drive to a Windows machine and restoring from there could be faster due to the notoriously slow USB ports of the NV+, especially if the USB drive and Windows machine both support USB3.0.
But you have the basic concept correct.
Thanks Sandshark, I will change my Config Backup to Everything then.
It's been so long since I set-up the Rsync backup that I have forgotten about how I did it. I will have to look-up the command and see how to use it to Restore.
The USB drive was formatted by the NAS I think, as Linux and is connected all the time to the front port of my old NV+, a USB2.0. Once a week I power-up the drive and push the Backup button to launch my backup.
Thanks also for the tip about apps. I have only (I believe) the Soft-Off add-on.
Gonna make myself a checklist, in case the day ever comes I'll need to do this!

Do you ever check the disk(s) to make sure everything is there?
It's also useful to run vendor diags (full read test) from time to time to make sure all the old files can still be read.
