Keeping speedstep settings on the RNDP200U

I want to enable SpeedStep on my Ultra 2 Plus. It is an option on the BIOS, but when I enable it, it gets disabled at the next boot. How do I get the thing to stay on?
Running Debian Wheezy (no getgear stuff), in case it's relevant, thought he behaviour was the same with the stock netgear firmware installed.
I am able to change other settings like the fan speed without issues, but the SpeedStep settings always revert

  • MIght not be able to. They also revert boot order too. Need to find a generic BIOS ROM to load, instead of the limited NTGR version.
  • I fail to see what anyone has to gain from locking such a feature down :/
