Lack of upgrade for Ultra 6 devices

Well... the difference in price between the ultra 6 and a RN316 is about 350 us$ I am going to use this at home. I am not an expert in this regard and ease of use is allso important. Will the hardware hold for steaming when I buy a New 3D TV? Do I really need USB 3.0 when I can use the ones on my PC, and use the network? Will I as a home user ever need eSata? I am not a very Advanced prosumer, just need to stream some Movies, store the Family Pictures, and give Access to this for my kids when they stay With their mother. Will I be content With the Ultra 6, or am I in trouble if I try to stream a 3D film? ... 350 dollars?
