Migrate disks between architecture (RN214 to RR2304)

It is possible for you to move the disks from the RN214 to the RR2304 but since you are migrating from an ARM-based unit to an Intel-based unit, the apps installed may not work. It will be best if you uninstall first the apps then install the x86 version of the app after the migration.
It is also a best practice to do a full backup first of your data before migrating the disks.

I’m only running one app, and if that turns out not to be available for Intel it won’t be a big deal.
I understand the backup recommendation, but unfortunately, backing up 16TB of data isn’t practical!

Then at some point you will lose your 16 TB of data. RAID isn't enough to keep it safe.
It is actually quite practical to back up 16 TB of data, you just need to spend ~$400 USD on two 10 TB USB drives.
