My WD RED WD30EFRX experience

Also use six 3TB REDs since about a week. I'll post if they start to behave! So far so good, knock on wood. But I do run a backup for the critical stuff. With my new fiber connection I can store all important files (about 800 GB) on a server in US (I live in Europe) for 1-2 USD per month (2 year subscription). Transfer speed is 25-50 Mbit/sek (took almost to weeks to run backup). Pretty sweet - hope NSA enjoys my family photos :D .
