NAS Debian package Update Question

Hi All,

I'm trying to squeeze the last remaining life out of my Nas Duo v2.

I came across this possible solution to fix the ssl issue:

https://github.com/rdynsxtrs/r5bin/tree/master/apache2

However when I try to install the deb files after transfering them to the NAS I get an error:

dpkg-deb: `apache2_2.2.34-0+rnx1_armel (1).deb' is not a debian format archive
dpkg: error processing apache2_2.2.34-0+rnx1_armel (1).deb (--install):

I've tried downloading the files as a zip and also individually. I've also tried from a Windows box and MAC, but for both scenarios I get the same error.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am thinking that you actually have the original Duo (v1).

    The original Duo

    • runs 4.1.x firmware
    • has "ReadyNAS Duo" on the front panel
    • often has other labels that say RND2000 v2 (which don't mean what you think).

    The Duo v2

    • runs 5.3.x firmware
    • has "ReadyNAS Duo v2" on the front panel.

On the sticker on the bottom it says RND2120 v2.

So I guess it is not the version I think it is - is there any option available for my model?

      Thanks!

      Hi.
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2 running firmware version 5.3.13 and having the same problem.
It says on the github page "The code provided does not work for the similarly named SPARC systems."
How do I check what system i I have? Or is the error I'm receiving a sure confirmation that I'm having i SPARC system?

Figured it out. ssh to nas and run uname -a. It says I'm running a arm system. Still stuck with the not a debian format error, but have decided to install  open media vault on the nas, so it doesn't matter anymore
