NAS Drive details not listed!
My drive has the following details on it:
Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ RND4000v3
I can't find that anywhere on your system to register the product or any reference to these details!
I believe it can take a 4TB drive, I currently have 2 No 2TB Samsung drives but am about to add a 4TB WD drive. Will that work in this unit?
Thanks
Martin

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou have a NV+ (v1h3) and are limited to 2TB drives. See http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/
- mevans_01AspirantMany thanks, I can't understand why Netgear would make a set of model names and sub-names to be so confusing! As a matter of interest, are the latest NAS drives much more secure/reliable as well as having much higher capacity?
Thanks for your help
Martin - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI would recommend the 314. This supports 4TB drives.
- mevans_01AspirantI guess the best I can do is add 2 more 2TB drives, I'm looking at Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB 6GB/S Internal SATA Drive & a Western Digital 2TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive for NAS - Red. I was going to have two different ones to reduce the risk of both failing simultaneously or is this just Paranoia?? Thanks, Martin
