That is not possible. When you formatted the drive as NTFS, Windows created a partition for you automatically. It might have called it "initializing".

You can re-insert the disk in the PC, and delete the partition (which returns the drive to the unformatted state that the NAS prefers). You do this by right-clicking on Computer (or My Computer) and selecting "Manage". You'll see the disk in the storage section. Right-click on the volume and delete it. Then eject the drive. Be careful to click on the right drive!
