Need Help with UPS to shutdown PC & Duo
I have posted in 2 other places on this forum with NO replys after more than a week so i thought i would try here.
My Setup
Win7 Pro 64Bit + ReadyNas Duo + APC CS650 UPS
UPS Connected to the NAS
Network Switch which has the following connected. PC, NAS, ADSL Router.
I have followed this viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16744 by installing NUT-Installer-2.6.0-1 for windows http://www.networkupstools.org/download ... y_packages for which i can get it to shutdown NAS, but there is no upsmon.conf file to configure for pc commuinication.
I have installed WinNUT http://csociety.ecn.purdue.edu/~delpha/ ... ase2.0.0b/ which i can get to shutdown NAS but cannot setup the upsmon.conf file to work correctly.
So, what am i doing wrong. do both pieces of software need to be installed.I have been banging my head against a brick wall for the last couple of weeks trying to get it working. :x
I cannot believe that such a simple option to shutdown both PC & NAS appear to be so complicated especially when you can still buy the ReadyNas Duo.
Heres' hoping for some very much appreciated help. :wink:

- Haven't tried the binary NUT-installer so cannot comment on that but I would recommend WinNUT which works for me.
WinNUT is at http://csociety.ecn.purdue.edu/~delpha/winnut/ but is out of date so has been taken over at http://code.google.com/p/winnut/downloads/list
Download the latest (at the time of writing 2.0.0.4a) then follow excellent howto at http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16744&p=89080#p89080
