NetGear Rn31400 still useable in 2024?

I've had really good luck with the WD blues previously and will probably grab those again. I have 2 of them in the sharecenter I have been running for awhile so that way they will all be same rpms.

Generally I recommend

  • Seagate Ironwolf
  • WD Red Plus (but NOT WD Red)
  • Any enterprise class drive.

If you pick a desktop-class drive, then check the datasheet and make sure it isn't SMR.
