It is not yet shows up one either the list for the Duo or the Ultra 2. (They are significantly different models). When it is approved, it will show up, but there won't be any announcements, you will just have to keep checking the Hardware Compatibility list (HCL).

hi its the ultra 2, the new dives are replacements better performance i have tried to buy the old version but not having much luck, i have contacted support but they dont seen to understand what i am talking about?
if its the same drive but better you would think it will be approved?

The problem is that WD has had a nasty habit of changing their drives and not changing the model number. The WD20EARS was a case in point. Originally it had four 500GB platter, then 3 666GB platters and with and without TLER.

What are the changes that WD made going from a WD20EARS to a WD20EARSX? Sometimes drive and operating system manufacturers make changes to "improve performance" that upset their compatibility with RAID. If for example you were running RAIDiator 4.2.16 and had a Mac running Snow Leopard and had time machine set up, upgrading to Lion would break the time machine configuration on the NAS. Netgear has a beta of a new version of RAIDiator to fix that. They have to take the drives and test them in various configurations and situations before they can be approved.
