NV+ 2TB Limit - Was Disappointed, Now Happy
I bought an NV+ a couple of years back and was happy to see the improved support for Timemachine. But, with just 2 1TB drives I was limited to ~600GB. I did my research and settled on the Western D...

"Ah! It's THERE!" A direct quote. With most of the steps above, a new share, StudioBackup has appeared on my Time Machine. (I imagine my high school self somehow getting that quote way back in 1974 and trying to imagine what sort of future that'd be from.)
Much thanks to mdgm, down under, or all the patience and help.
I'll try to find some time to put something a bit more coherent together, but the basic points were:
Create a new/modify an existing Share for backup:
viewtopic.php?f=71&t=55166
Follow the Lion stuff - why not? (the Studio is / will be on Snow Leopard for a while and works - still not showing up on the newly upgraded Lion machine - I'll keep on that)
Upgrade to 4.1.8-T9 viewtopic.php?f=17&t=55155
Copy the /c/.timemachine/.com.apple.timemachine.supported (zero-length) file to /c/<sharename>
Convert security level from Share to User

I may start over on the existing timemachine share and actually give each it's own share. I was actually able to get my old G5 running 10.5.8 to see the share in Time Machine with this.
So - with those - setting up a second (and hopefully additional) share(s), I can make use of the NV+'s capabilities for a while. The one outstanding issue is that the share is still not showing up on my newly upgraded Lion machine. And I need to verify that everything comes up automatically from a cold start. So - thanks a bunch to mdgm.
Be nice if Netgear could do with this what they did with the legendary 15 step process a few years ago.
Thanks again.
