NV+ stuck on Quota Check twice! (Case #20955256)
My Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ failed and went completely offline a few days ago. When I tried to restart it it got stuck doing the Quota Check at 0.9%.
Following the suggestions of some postings I found on the forum, I turned off (unplugged) the device and pulled one of the drives that, some months ago, had escalating SMART errors.
Upon restart the ReadyNAS quickly got past 0.9% Quota Check and I figured I was in the clear. However, it subsequently got stuck on 64.0% Quota Check. I fear that perhaps I have lost 2 drives.
I have found other suggestions on the forum that a re-install of the OS on the device could help, but I don't know how to do that and haven't found clear instructions.
My configuration:
ReadyNAS NV+
4 Drives populated
3 drives: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS
1 drive: 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX
RAIDiator 4.1.9
Configuration: X-RAID
Thanks,
Jason

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAn OS reinstall will not help you if you have lost 2 drives. Sometimes cloning one of the failing drives to an error-free drive will help. Also, did you simply remove the bad drive, or replace it with a new one?
Before doing an OS reinstall I would try bypassing the volume file checks at startup. If that works, back up your system w/o delay.
Instructions for this (and OS reinstall btw) are in your hardware manual (http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... 6Dec11.pdf pages 15-16)
