Is the serial number in the range here: viewtopic.php?p=54911 If so, make sure that Netgear support knows that.
Other options include buying an off-the-shelf PSU and modifying the cable (or purchasing an adapter). Most don't fit in the readynas chassis, so you can end up with something quite ugly. There are posts here on that subject, so google for them if interested.
Or look for a used v1 model.
It is possible to mount the disks in an x86 linux system, assuming you have a system with enough connectors.
