NV+ (v1) PSU died

My ReadyNas NV+ PSU just died last week. It was not in the serial # range of the recall. According to my original Amazon order, it was supposed to have a 5 year warrantee, but it turns out that a check of the serial # through Netgear's website reveals that it has a 3 year warrantee instead. And of course... that three years ended a couple of weeks ago.
Given all that, I was very relieved to find out that, not only does Netgear currently have the PSU for the NV+ in stock right now, but that the cost is only $27 for the part. Very happy with this, I was certain that I was going to have to modify a PSU to work with the ReadyNas.
Any idea on the quality of these replacement PSU's? I'm worried at the fact that mine died after only 3 years, and the fact that some folks are reporting that they might be a fire hazard...
