PSU for a unit within the 'problem' serial number range died sometime last week. Netgear is sending a replacement without charge. Submitted a support ticket online and included the product serial number and also referenced the known power supply problem.
Recommend anyone doing this include your name and shipping address with initial contact, including whether it is a business or home address. Doing so would have likely gotten me my new unit 48 hours faster as this info was subsequently requested and each submission seemed to take about a day for them to respond to.
Despite receiving an automated email saying I needed to send the old unit back before they will ship a new one (unless I pay extra for advanced replacement), they have indicated the replacement unit has shipped and I can discard the failed part.
