NV+ v2 feedback...
Right well, I've just got a ReadyNAS NV+ v2 and after a bit of a false start and an RMA return (nothing to do with Netgear or the product...tried to register it only to find serial was already registered, phoned netgear and turns out it was already registered and flagged on their system as a refurb unit, took it back and the place recieved it from the distributor like that because they checked the tracking and since they recieved it in april it hadnt been moved...)
Anyways, got it up and running easily 2nd time around apart from 1 hickup...
I don't use DHCP at all on my LAN, could enter the DNS server addresses, IP address and subnet mask OK...
But no matter what i tried to enter the default gateway IP, it wouldnt enter/save it.
I don't know if it's an issue with the firmware or whatnot but to get that properly entered i had install the enable root ssh addon and manually edit /etc/network/interfaces which wasnt fun because vi was the only text editor i could find (why not nano? makes life simple :))
Also, what is a normal running temperature? I (currently) have 3x3TB 7200rpm discs in there and the NAS is running at 40-42 celcius, i'm not sure what is normal for this NAS and this config.

- You can easily install nano via apt-get if you want it.
Need to an
# apt-get update
to ensure the package list is up to date first.
In my v1 (very different hardware and different OS) my disk temperatures currently range from 40 to 46 degrees celsius. It's normal. Those disk temperatures are well within safe levels.
