NV+ v2 Loud Fan after Firmware Upgrade
After upgrading the firmware to 5.3.6, the fan in my unit randomly decides to go full blast. The disks and the unit always sit at around 40 deg c, but the unit decides that it is hot and blasts the...
Would need to see process usage. One guess may be the Smart Network Genie software in 5.3.6 using more CPU, causing the temperature to raise, which in turn will cause the fan to spin up to compensate.
The Genie control point is a Java Virtual Machine. It should only be running if you've activated Genie. But I don't have a Marvell system to see how it really acts to know more.
