NV+ (V3) Compatibility - APC CS350 UPS
Hello All,
I'm running an APC UPS (CS350) connected to an NV+ (V3) ReadyNAS.
I've got the ReadyNAS all setup to monitor the UPS, which it generally does well, however every 2 weeks or so the system comes back with an error message such as...
"UPS battery error. Please replace the battery.
[Mon Jan 9 09:39:50 EST 2012]"
When i check the UPS, all seems fine and no error lights are on. I also rang APC, who got me to manually perform a self test, which the unit passed.
Also, the Status of the UPS when i check Frontview lists 100% charge and 42min power remaining,....which sounds about right.
APC reckon the ReadyNAS is set too sensitive and hence, not their issue.
The ReadyNAS and UPS unit are both only 3 to 6 mths old.
Once i reboot the ReadyNAS the warning is gone,...for another week or 2.
Any ideas?
(I'm keen to keep the UPS plugged into the ReadyNAS so it can automatically manage shutdown timing, etc.)
Thanks!
Chris Bick

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredFrom that date range it sounds like you have a NV+ (v1)
What version of RAIDiator are you running? - chris_bickAspirantHey there,
The bottom of the unit says "RND4000 v3" ...with just NV+ on the front.
Its currently running RAIDiator V4.1.8 - chris_bickAspirantOk, i'm seriously confused regarding the version, given the unit says RND4000 v3,.....the box says just RND 4000 (no version mentioned).....and when i check online, they are only just selling V2 currently....hence how can i have a V3?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIt's definitely a NV+ v1 (RND4000-100).
The RND4000 v3 presumably indicates a few minor hardware changes since the original RND4000. It's confusing I know. Back when they labelled it RND4000 v3 they probably didn't know they would release a new product the NV+ v2 (RND4000-200)
Perhaps you should try opening a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case.
