NVX power supply failed [Case #16549165]
NVX was in operation since March 2010 with no prior issues running 4 disks.) running the latest firmware.
connected to APC UPS ES550.
I notice a smell of burned transformer, no light from LED/LCD when pressing power.
But there is a orange LED seems to be ON (when all disks removed, looking inside the NVX, the LED is located at the top of the box.)
I did unplugged, pull all drives out, put 1 drive back in
wait couple of minutes
plugged backed in
orange led lighted up
I press power bottom:
power bottom show a quick blue flash
no activity on any other led.
History prior to failure:
we have a power loss on Saturday, the UPS kept the NVX up for 30min, then eventually NVX shut it self off,
NVX automatically powered on when the power came back on after couple of hours on Saturday.
Sunday late night it went poof.

- jlevine456AspirantI have a similar issue with my ReadyNAS NVX (lost power, ran for a while on ups, then no led/lcd display, but can see orange led light inside). What did your problem end up being?
- console1Aspirantmine was replace by netgear, the power supply issue.
The sent a new unit and I sent mine (without the disks) back to them. inserted the 4 disks in the new one and back to work.
