Performance when connected to forums
I have a tough time getting connected and once connected very slow screen or thread switching, usually times-out. Anything I need to do on my end to help with this connection.
Running Windows XP and Firefox.
No connection issues with any other site or forum.

- NhellieVirtuosoAre you the same guy on Forum1? :)
I don't experience any slowness, tried using other browsers?
I'm on Win7 running chrome. No issues. - HardhatAspirantMust not be that guy.. I don't know what Forum1 is.
I did also try IE for alternate browser. Hate to install another one, since the ones I use work with all others I've ever accessed.
This is exactly what happens 90% of the time...
The server at www.readynas.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Try Again button will often work, but is very frustrating. - HardhatAspirantI do not know why, maybe some unseen admin is working their magic, but I am at this moment connected to the forum and it is moving at a brisk pace! Spoke to soon, few minutes later, back to slow!30-60 seconds before change of screen such as moving to another thread. 40 seconds timed to open the editor on this post. This is not going to serve me well at all.
- HardhatAspirantReally, If someone could advise me. I average 34.45 seconds waiting from the time i pick a thread of function in these forums. Often times around 45 seconds plus, it will Time Out as I posted above.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredNot sure why you are getting those speeds. It works fine here and I'm on the other side of the world.
Have you tried using a different PC? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI haven't seen any performance issues lately, though there were some periods in the past when I saw some timeouts. It can be very annoying if you get a timeout on a post.
Is this happening at particular times of the day? Did you try chrome, or only firefox? Are you always using the same internet provider (e.g. does it fail both at work and at home?) - HardhatAspirantHere come the hard questions, ones I should have already checked without being asked !
Firefox 35, IE 8, but not Chrome as I have never installed it, but I might. First, I might go try another system.
Am using the same ISP. - HardhatAspirantThis reply via iPhone isnt worthless if it increases my post qty. in efforts to gain URL button stature!
And...it was fast!?!? - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Is it good if your phone is faster than your PC????Hardhat wrote: This reply via iPhone isnt worthless if it increases my post qty. in efforts to gain URL button stature!

From what I've read, the benchmarks show that a high-end smartphone or tablet has the processing power of a 4-6 year old desktop PC (multi-core, reasonably high end).
Way off topic, but maybe it will help increase your post count :D - HardhatAspirantI guess I need to wash my mouth out with soap and start a new line of work.
Tried another system on our network. A little faster CPU, Win 7 vs XP, same Firefox 35. Its like a thunderbolt in responsiveness! I even have multiple threads open including the one to http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 where you two have a ton of info on backups (my next important read) and for whatever reason i can see the URL button as mentioned in http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=80014.
All I can say is thank you. I will try to figure out why my system is so slugish.
