- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThat's 383 and a third days.
Drive warranties do vary and some are designed for 24/7 operation while others aren't. What models do you have and how long have you had them? - stretchjrAspirantI have the Seagate 1.5T ST31500341AS which were put into operation in May 2011.
Thanks,
Stretch - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo you have any SMART errors on the disks?
- stretchjrAspirantOne Reallocated Sector on drive one and three Reallocated Sectors on drive 2. Nothing has changed In more than a year..
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDrives should be good for a while yet unless the reallocated sector count or ATA error count starts increasing rapidly.
- stretchjrAspirantThanks for the info....I will continue my backups and hope these drives go for another year or 2....
Regards,
Stretchjr - PapaBear1ApprenticeI had two Seagate ST3500630AS drives that ran for over 25,000 hours or almost three years of 24/7 operation and were removed only to replace them with 1TB drives. In fact they are still in use in other service.
