Start with a can of compressed air (Staples, Office Depot, Costco, etc all carry these). Take it outside, open the side panel, and blow all the dust out of it.
The CPU fan may be clogged up, not moving the heat like it used to. If still not helping, may need to remove the CPU heatsink and put on some fresh thermal paste. If you aren't comfortable with that, find a techy friend or local computer store; should only take a few minutes to perform.
