Oct 19, 2020Problems since Wifi mesh install
Hi I recently installed a new TP-Link Deco mesh system in my house. As my main router is no longer the management, the Deco provides a different IP address range. Since powering on my ReadyNas, I n...

So found this simple solution installing Linux reader a freeware utility, installed one of the disks into an external hard drive and it did the rest and I was able to restore to another disk with easy.
Here is a link, I would recommend this to others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIWdZ0qDD54

The NAS itself is not the issue. One of two things is likely:
You previously assigned a static IP to the NAS, which is now outside the subnet of your new mesh system. If you can temporarily go back to the old configuration, do so and fix that. An OS re-install will fix it, and will also change the admin password back to the default.
OR, you added the mesh system to a router/modem provided by your service provider but did not change it to pass-through (modem only) mode, so you now have a "double NAT" condition and one device is assigning an address to the NAS and another to the other things on the network..

Thanks for the response.
I did add the mesh network and also changed the ISP router to Modem mode.
I can see the readynas now has an IP from the mesh network and I can access the admin console, I can see it in RaidR but just cannot access using the UNC path...
I will try the reset option and let you know how that goes.
Thanks

So it looks like that didnt work. It seems my IP was automatically assigned rather than static which is odd as I am sure when I set it up many moons ago I did set a static IP.
Anyways I have 2 disks in an X-RAID configuration and taking each disk out to see if I can retrieve data gives me the same message in the logs.
Does anyone know of anyway I could get these disks up and running again.
I am not sure if this makes any difference but the NAS has been switched off for a few months now but before it was switched off it was operating ok so unsure why I have suddenly got this issue.....confused.
The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume.

Just to add I have performed the option at reboot to perform a volume scan at next reboot however that didnt seem to work and provided me with the error message in the log that it was unable to perform the volume scan.
Just looking through the forum it seems another person had this issue some time ago and tried booting the device through Linux. I might have to give this a try......
If anyone else has any ideas on how best to recover data from the NAS it would be really helpful... I can see this being a long road :-(.
I think its time I put my ReadyNas Duo v2 in the grave... its served me well over the last 8/9 years but this for me has to be the last straw..
