526x or 716?
Any thoughts on which one: 526x or 716? Diskless units are about the same price on Amazon right now. I know the 716 is an older unit but an wondering how it compares to the 526x? Thinking abo...

In theory, the 716 will blow the 526x out of the water if all you are looking for is pure speed.

If you are interested in CPU-intensive tasks (for instance plex 4K transcoding), then certainly the 716 is the better option. Even if you are just using the ReadyNAS as file server, the memory uplift could be helpful.
Though I am quite happy with my 526x performance, it is no slouch either.
