Ready NAS NV+ - Different disk size

Hi

I have an ReadyNAS NV+ and faulting disk and have to by a new one.
Is it possible to increase size only on one disk.
Today its 4 * 1TB drives and i want to change one drive to 2TB (for the future to replace the other 3 to bigger)
Will the RAID accept the larger drive and rebuild it anyway or is it goint to fail because i need same size on all drives ?

(The old drive 1TB ST31000528AS has 32MB cache and the new 2TB ST2000NM0033 128MB Cache)

Thank you for support!

  • It will accept the drive but you won't get any expansion replacing just the one disk.

If it is the v1 then you would need to replace all four disks (one at a time of course) to get expansion.

If it is the v2 then only two disks would need to be replaced to get expansion.

Note that 2TB disks are the max capacity supported by the v1.
