ReadyNAS 104 replaced 1 disk now no data
Hi, I was generally happy with my ReadyNAS 104 for several years but recently a disk was predicted as failing so I ordered a new one (another WD red 3TB). When I replaced the disk the NAS display said 're-syncing' for a while and I left it overnight.
When I next checked it the display said something like 'Data Dead' and when I rebooted it looks like the data volume no longer exists. Have I lost the data or is there any way to recover the XRaid volume? I have attached a screenshot.
If not would I have any luck using file recovery software like photorec? Thanks in advance

ReclaiMe might work (you'd need to connect the disks up to a Windows PC). https://www.reclaime.com/

That's a bit expensive for my budget so I'll have to create a new volume and try to recover what I can from backups. I'm a bit disappointed though that replacing a disk in a raid-5 lost everything - doesn't fill me with confidence.

You could try deleting one of the volumes, and see if it comes back. But I'm not sure which one. JohnCM_S or Marc_V might be able to tell - try downloading the logs and send them a downloadable link via PM (private message). You'd do that using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page.
