ReadyNas 2120 Dead Recovery Options
Hello all.....I had an unfortuante water spray issue on my ReadNas 2120 unit this monring. Seems it killed it, totally dead, no lights, nothing. Took cover off, drives out, a little moist, but not dripping wet, reguardless it is dead.
What are my options to get the data off of of the 4 drives?
Can a linux box recognize the array and boot up so I can coipy data off?
Thanks in advance!
George

Assuming the disks are fully intact, you can migrate them directly to another OS-6 ReadyNAS (either another ARM model or an X86). Either a desktop or rackmount will work.
You can also mount the file system on an linux system with mdadm and btrfs installed.
If the disks have some damage, you could clone them, and try RAID recovery software - ReclaiMe is one package that several folks here have used with sucess.

Thanks for this option, while getting a server built with enough sata ports I decided to plug in the 2120 again, it came on!
It is in the process of resynching now, all data seems available. I had a drive that was beginning to fail which I never installed, it is in and seems good, goin gto take it about 13 hours according to the GUI.
Thanks and fingers crossed!

Good news! I suggest backing up your NAS as soon as you can.
