I think you can get away with one NAS, perhaps with a separate volume for surveillance.
Are the cameras recording 24x7, or are they only recording when they detect motion (or other activity)?

Thanks! Most likely I'll set the cameras up to record on motion.

In that case there should be no problem with performance, even if they share the same data volume.

Thank you for the info. I've used this NAS before, but just as a file server. Works great.
However, I wasn't sure about running multiple apps.
