ReadyNas 314 Static IP Address Change

Hi There

I reset my Nighthawk XR500, the address changed from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1

I have a ReadyNas314. connected, with a static IP (stupid I now realise) on the Nas side. I connected the NAS to a laptop via ethernet cable (I have the login and password) and can see the files and can get into them. What cable and how do I go about accessing the Readynas so I can change the static IP?

Thanks!!

You should be able to browse to https://nas-ip-address/admin (using the old static IP address) on your laptop - that should get you back into the admin web ui (since you can access the files).  Then navigate to the network page, and change the address back to DHCP.  Then reconnect the NAS to the router network.  You can then reserve the IP address in the XR500.  When done, you can then change the IP address range back to 192.168.1.x if you wish (or not).  Note the XR500 will automatically change the reservation from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.1.x.

FWIW, the simplest way to resolve this whould have been to reset the IP address range on the XR500 back to 192.168.0.x .  Then reconnect the NAS to the router network, and you'd be able to access the NAS again.  After that, you can proceed as above.

The third option is to do an OS reinstall (NOT a factory default) from the boot menu of the NAS (with the NAS connected to the router network). That resets the NAS to use DHCP, changes the admin password back to password and turns off volume quota on the volume settings wheel.
