Hi Stephen,
The job did start but showing in process after 6+ hours.
The destination is an external HDD and as the job is in process, there is no log file for examination
Many thanks

Can you see the external drive contents from the NAS admin interface? If you can't,then one option is to enable ssh, and use that to see what is going on.
You could also try downloading the full log zip, and looking for problems there.

How big is the drive, and about how much are you copying to it?
Also, what manufacturer/model?

Hi Stephen,
If the backup has been open, will the backup job be able to skip the file or would it keep retry and get hang?
Regards
Paul

It might depend on the backup protocol you've picked. But I haven't seen it hang.

Hi Stephen
I am using the netgear backup and it say in progress (over 10+ hours) . I wasnt sure if it is due to some files were open (which not able to backup)
For some of the softwar, it will jsut skip the files if files were open/occupied
Regards
Paul
