ReadyNAS 424 Virus Updates Fail
I am having the same problem others have reported... "Antivirus scanner definition file update failed due to download failure. Check your Internet connection." This problem started a couple weeks ago out of the blue right after a Plex Media Server update. I am running 6.10.5 Hotfix 1. Everything else works just fine. When I SSH over to the server and try a manual freshclam, I get the following:
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local Version: 0.100.2 Recommended version: 0.103.4
main.cld is up to date (version: 62, sigs: 6647427, f-level: 90, builder: sigmgr)
nonblock_connect: connect(): fd=4 errno=101: Network is unreachable
Can't connect to port 80 of host database.clamav.net (IP: xxxx:xxxx::xxxx:xxxx)
WARNING: getfile: Unknown response from database.clamav.net (IP: xxxx.xxx.xxxx.xxxx): HTTP/1.1 403
WARNING: Can't download daily.cvd from database.clamav.net
followed by a series of retries all failing.
HELP!

No I didn't but I will give that a try. Of course, it begs the question why the system didn't automatically update it's own firmware since I have it configured to do that. Apparently "automatic update" doesn't mean what I thought it did. :) Thanks for your help!

Netgear's release process starts by posting the release notes and the binaries, allowing people who want the release immediately to manually install. After a week or so, they put it on the update servers.
So if you simply wait a bit longer, you should get the update automatically.
