No. It is the successor to the Pro 6 which was the successor to the Pro Business Edition. It is the logical choice for a new ReadyNAS if you have the Pro Business Edition.

No. It has some new features and some old EOL features are no longer included. What features do you need?

It is the only desktop ReadyNAS model to have ECC memory that I can remember, certainly the first ever desktop ReadyNAS model with an Intel CPU to use ECC memory.
