readynas 600 maximum capacity 2012 firmware
I am looking at whether it makes any sense in 2012 to repair/resurrect an old ReadyNAS 600, looks like it is revision A (front loading drives) running Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.9 [1.00a147] Memory: 512 MB [2.0-2-2-6]
It has 4 drives in it, 2 are failed, and I want to just pull all the drives and put in 4x2TB Seagate ST2000DM001 drives. I cant find any real definitive answer to whether the newer firmwares now support a RAID5 with 4x2TB drives, the release notes for 4.1.9 just say that drives over 2TB are not supported..but could I put in 4x2TB and get a RAID 5 Volume of 5587.93gb on this device? Or is it still limited to a total of 1TB? Also, the drive compatability list I found online doesnt show the ReadyNAS 600. Would this drive I mentioned even work? Or, is a device of this age not worth using? I was looking at using it to store security camera archives and possibly snapshots of virtual servers. Please let me know, any advice is appreciated.

- jwesllcAspirantGreat, thanks for that information. So if I put in 4x2TB drives, with the newest firmware, I would be able to have a single RAID 5 volume of 5587.93GB (approximately)?
