readyNAS 600
i want to recover files from old 600 box but when i turn in on it goes on for a second and turns off. What can I do to get it working.
It was working perfectly 4-5 years ago and it was sitting in storage since.

- xeltrosApprenticeCould be ram or CPU problem.
I don't know those units, can you clean it ? It surely gathered some dust in 5 years... - norbert1Aspiranti did cleaned it but nothing, i was wondering if I can use regular atx power supply just to recover files
- xeltrosApprenticeI don't know the model, so I can't say if ATX if compatible or not.
Same for using the disks in another machine, this is usually possible to boot on a linux live CD and remount the drives but I can't walk you through that for this unit as I don't know how the operating system works. Anyway, if you were to do that, it's advised to note the order of the disks to be able to put them back in the same order on the NAS.
Just to be clear, do you have important files on this ? If so you should have a backup, and I guess that after 5 years unplugged, what's on the disk is not vital... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat ReadyNAS units do you have? The 600 and your Ultra 6 or do you have other ReadyNAS units as well?
- norbert1Aspirantultra6 and 600 only.
Im missing few files that somehow didnt end up on ultra6 before. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired
