ReadyNAS Duo - "The main folder is damage"

Hi.

I replaced my previous one NAS to the new one, ReadyNAS Duo v2, and I can't connect to it, to the admin panel. The previous one NAS (ReadyNAS Duo v1) was working fine, and I could connect to the admin panel by RAIDar, but I can't to this one. The status says: The main folder is damage. I don't know what does it mean, the file system is damage? The hdd is detected and I took it from the previous one NAS, google doesn’t say anything about this error, I tried to reboot it without hdd with the same result, is there anything what I can do or I should send it to the service ? It's brand new.

Sorry for my EN.

  • To confirm the current situation, is that what you attempted: Did you insert the HDDs from the ReadyNAS Duo v1 into the ReadyNAS Duo v2 hoping that it would boot properly and share your data as normal?

Can you tell me exactly how is "Duo" (the model name/number) written in the bottom front as well as bottom sticker on each of these units please? It's a long story, but there are what I used to call "Duo v1v2" and "Duo v2v1". Is it like "Duo" on the front and "Duo v2" on the bottom, or "Duo v2" on the bottom and "RND2000 v2" on the bottom? Please confirm for both.

Why did you replace the NAS? To get something newer? Because it wasn't working anymore? If so, what did the old NAS do that you replaced it?

I can't see your image for the moment as it wasn't approved by a moderator yet.

  • I forget to write that I did factory reset, and it was successful because there was an information that "system is downloading" or something like that, but it won't help, and the second option was the system reinstallation, but it didn't go through, and the result is the same as above.

Sorry, a few minutes after I wrote my last post I realized what I have done. So I have ReadyNAS Duo V1 previously (OS v4, USB 2.0) , and now I have RND2000-200WWB , so V2 (OS v5, USB 3.0). And I put HDD from the previous one directly to the new one. It detected familiar files from OS v4, and tried it to run on Duo V2, why file system was damage.

I just didn't know that it use HDD for system files, I should delete all partitions before I had put this hdd inside. Fortunately it seems not to be damage and now everything is working, I hope so....

I only have some problems with SSL certificate but I handle with that:

This server could not prove that it is 192.168.0.165; its security certificate is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

      Thanks.
