Readynas duo disk 1 is dead
Hi,
I recently took my 2 yr old readynas duo v1 2 x 1tb over my friends to swap some files and then file transfers started to run slow, thought nothing of it until I got back home and since then I haven't been able to access it as I normally do, no front view and no network port light on router. When I switch it on both disk leds flash as if the disks are syncing but then disk 1 goes off, I shut it down for a while then removed disk 1 which makes a squeaking noise when you move it slightly. I have ordered a replacement so should I just insert the new disk with the nas switched off and it will rebuild or does the problem sound more serious with having no access to it? I did shut it down properly and it was transported in its original box so I haven't damaged it.
