Have you tried running a backup to an external USB storage?
I have only one more thing on my list to try and this is it. However, I haven't had success in the past because my external USB drive wasn't compatible with the NAS. I was using a FreeAgent drive and I found reports of problems on the forum. I am going to try another drive, but I'm not hopeful. I can go out and buy a new drive that I know is compatible, but this seems like an expensive solution. I'm hoping for another.
