ReadyNAS Duo not expanding

Hello

My ReadyNAS Duo will not automatically expand, even althought I have bought Hard Drives that are on the capability list and I have re-booted 10+ times.

Further info:

I recently had a 2TB and a 1TB drive in my ReadyNAS Duo.   I then upgraded the 1TB drive, so I now have 2 x 2TB.  Both drives are Seagate ST2000DM001 which are on the compatibility list.

Since adding the new drive, the system has sycronised both drives, the status = Redundant and RAID Level = 1.  I have also re-booted the system 10+ time with different option (re-starting, power-off and manually re-start, performed scan, checked and fixed quotas).

The system still fails to expand saying 925 GB (99%) of 925 GB used.  Both drives show capacity of 1863 GB but only 929 GB.

Since adding the new drive I have alos upgraded the firmware to 4.1.15 and I have removed the new drive, re-sync and re-boot.  Yet still not expanding.

Did you know how I can fix this?

Many thanks

Stephen

There are a couple of tips here: http://home.bott.ca/webserver/?p=550

If they fail - The brute force way is to copy off the data (fastest over a gigabit network), and then do a factory reset.  The reset can be done from the Web UI (which is a bit easier than dealing with paper-clips).

Then restore the data from backup after the reset completes.
