A factory reset is one solution - IF you have all the data also on another device or combination of devices. It is also, most likely the quickest solution.
The other solution would be to open an online tech support request. That, however, would involve waiting for the questions they would have and the instructions to set the device up for telenet so they can access it remotely and see the details of what is going on. While this would take longer, it may be more helpful in possibly determining what went wrong.
This is one reason we harp on backups so much - they give you more options.
