ReadyNAS Duo RND2150 help please...

Hi,

Thanks in advance. Sorry if this has been asked before, I have spent an hour on the forum and cannot find a definitive answer.

Have received this message:

"Disk 2 did not pass SMART self-assessment test. Please replace this disk as soon as possible. Growing SMART errors indicate a disk that may fail soon. If the errors continue to increase, you should be prepared to replace the disk."

Currently have installed 2 x Seagate 500gb drives; 1 x ST3500418AS and 1 x ST3500320AS.

I would like to upgrade to 1TB enterprise class but would like a recommendation as the 'ReadyNAS Hardware Compatability List' does not list RND2150.

Also, can I hot swap Disk 2 with the new 1TB drive, then once redundant hot swap Disk 1 with the new 1TB drive?

Cheers...

...Mickus

The RND2150 is the Duo (v1). The Duo (v1) shows under Legacy > ReadyNAS Duo on the compatibility list.
  • Thanks mdgm!

You mean once redundant hot swap Disk 1 with another new 1TB drive? If so, yes.

    Do you have a backup?
  • Very good.

Yes, backed up to the Synology DiskStation.

    Thanks for your help mdgm!
